End of June in the Garden
A bit behind with my posts, that may be something to do with Tilly, she is keeping me very busy. These pictures were taken at the end of June, but the garden is changing so quickly, I must keep the photos coming.

Planting out the cutting garden
The plants were ready to go out, so I got busy in the sunshine.
April in the garden
April has arrived with sunshine, very heavy showers at times and lots to do in the garden. My new galvanised steel staging has been built (thank you lovely patient husband) and is in position. It replaces the rotten wooden staging, which will finish it’s life as a useful outside place for hardening off my plants.
The raised bed is covered to warm the soil and protect it from my cat friends. Elsewhere I have spread Pyracantha branches on the tempting soil, fingers crossed.
Seedlings and seeds
Parcels from the postman are always exciting and rarely for me, but the very best ones are plants. I ordered some seedlings from Sarah Raven, for my front garden mix of purple, acid green and orange annuals. I am growing most from seed but have ordered some ready to go plants too. 
These lovelies arrived yesterday, quickly potted on, they already look very pleased with themselves and are enjoying the sun.

Sowing some seeds
I love spring, the planning and planting for the coming months is probably when I enjoy gardening the most. With the weather warming nicely, I am itching to start gardening again.
Last year I found the garden a bit of a chore to be honest, the local cats constantly making a mess of my flower and vegetable garden was very disheartening. Anyway, this year I am fresh with renewed enthusiasm and lots of seeds, thank you Higgledy Garden.
I have always grown a mix of edible, bee friendly flowers and vegetables together in an cottage garden style. This year my plan is to grow mainly cutting flowers, still bee friendly of course. There is every chance I will add some salad and veg in places, but for now my plan is this….
My raised bed at the bottom of the garden will have both hardy and half hardy annuals in a mix of colours.
The front garden will be a mix of lavender and annuals with a colour palette of purple, acid green and orange.
The main garden will be a mixture, not quite sure yet, this is definitely a work in progress.
So this week I started off some of the hardy annual seeds in my greenhouse.
I love to use coloured plant labels, it really helps me when planting out to know what needs to go where. They can be used year after year so well worth buying. Sarah Raven stocks them.
I prefer to start my seeds in pots rather than sowing directly in the beds,mainly because of my furry digging friends, slugs and snails.
Now I need more compost.
