Once my plants leave the greenhouse, I still like to keep them marked for information with a decorative label.
With herbs and vegetables, it is particularly useful to keep them identified, if you send someone else to collect what is needed for dinner. Good with Perennial plants too, a reminder where they were planted last summer, have they survived the winter?
I use these broken pottery labels to give a cottage garden feel to my kitchen garden. When making these, first smooth off any sharp edges on the pottery with coarse sandpaper, then for the writing use a waterproof marker pen.
Important to position them in a safe place away from children and pets.
When my cutting garden annuals are ready to plant in the garden, these colourful homemade labels are perfect reminder of each plant colour.
